With respect to Stan Lee and John Romita…

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Hello friends! We’re finally here, the end of chapter 2 of our fun-filled-yet-recently-slightly-depressing story! Brian and I are trying to decide what to do for next week. Do you guys want to see some bonus material before we launch chapter 3? Or do you want us to just get to it already! Let us know.

See ya next week.

Hello everybody! Brian and I decided to skip the bonus material and jump right into Issue/Chapter/Part III of our little funnybook. We hope you like the cover, and yes, it’s an homage to the Ultimate Marvel line of comics. Since the Ultimate comics are some of the best comics out there, I felt it fitting that DarkRaven would aspire to be like the heroes that populate them.

Anyway, next week the new pages start rolling in. See ya then!

I feel right, Brian. I feel RIGHT.

Hey again.

So the last leg of this first story begins today. Thanks for sticking with us this far. Bri and I appreciate it.

You’ll probably find this hard to believe, but Melisa and I have an ugly, yellow bathroom. She and I are such bastions of good taste, yet we haven’t fixed up our ugly yellow bathroom yet. I think she secretly likes it. In the comic, I colored it a different color to make it look nicer than it really is. But Brian insisted that I make it bright and sunshine-y, in the name of historical accuracy. The things we do for our art.

Until next week, I remain,

The Breakfast of Champions

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Hey peeps! If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend starting the day off with a hardy  and healthy breakfast of Diet Dr. Pepper (in a can) and a bowl of Lucky Charms. Brian says that there’s no better way to get your heart racing in the morning. (There’s an inside joke there if you know Brian.)

So this page is representative of a typical day in the Claxton/Allen household. Everything is represented accurately, down to Justin texting at the dining room table, to April’s indignation, to Chandler’s need to know the weather, and Melisa’s need for java. I could have used photos instead of having Brian draw this up, and it probably would have saved us a few days in production time. Art imitates life!

Okay, going to bed now. Good night, and good luck.

Hello people! Don’t have much time to post today, so I’ll update the blog later this afternoon. Hope you like the new look I’m sporting these days. Brian is still a little upset that I cut my hair in the first place.
Talk to you soon.
